Metal flashing helps seal out water from many critical spots on a home's roof, including valleys, around chimneys and vent pipes, beside dormer walls, and along the rakes and eaves.
For any covering to be effective, moisture entry points must be adequately flashed and sealed, and other water-shedding components must be properly installed and maintained.
Siding and related flashing must be installed to prevent moisture infiltration. Flashing is required at wall and roof intersections, changes in roof slope or direction, around roof openings, and at gutters.
